Preventative and Wellness Care
At Haywood Animal Hospital, we strive to help your pet live a long and healthy life. Each pet is unique, with different needs and lifestyles, so we cater our wellness schedules based on conversations we have with you. Our goal is always prevention of illness, but early detection of disease is also extremely important.
Since our pets age at a faster rate than people, yearly or twice yearly (depending on age of pet) examinations are crucial to their health. In addition to a comprehensive physical exam, we check for intestinal parasites, check for heartworms and tick borne disease if appropriate, send out blood and urine samples for disease detection, discuss parasite prevention plans, and discuss dental care. All of these things help provide our veterinarians the big picture concerning your pet's health and wellness.
