Dr. Chris Jones
DVM

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Chris Jones received his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with a minor in Companion Animal Science at Rutgers University in New Jersey in 2015. He attended Ross University on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts for his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and completed his clinical year at University of Florida graduating in 2021.

Growing up in central NJ, Dr. Jones worked as a vet tech for 6 years, during undergrad and before going off to vet school. He credits a large portion of his experience to that time. He believes this gives him a more complete view of the hospital process having now gone from cleaning cages to doctor. It was during that time as well that he discovered his love of working with exotics. During vet school, Dr. Jones was very active in the avian and exotic medicine clubs which further extended his exotics interests.

Just after graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Jones moved up to North Carolina to begin practicing and after a year at another practice, he became part of the Haywood family. He enjoys working with exotics, performing surgery and spending time explaining to clients what is going on with their furry family members. He prides himself on being thorough and answering any and all questions you have.

Outside of the hospital Dr. Jones enjoys being a home-body with his wife Molly and their cat Archibald. He enjoys hitting the gym, reading, playing board and video games, and crafting.
